I. Completing the Application Form


Q: I have an application form, what do I do next?
A: Fill up the application form as completely and as honestly as you can. Then gather the required documents and send the completed application form with the required documents to the Philippine National Bank (Europe) Plc, Ground Floor, Old Change House, 128 Queen Victoria Street, London EC4V 4BJ. Please ensure you have sufficient stamp.

Q: What are the required documents?
A: The required documents are as follows:

Q: How important is it that I enter accurate contact details in my application form?
A: Very important. Your contact details are our only link to you, and it is crucial that you furnish us with accurate and specific details, i.e. mailing addresses, postal codes, mobile, residence and work phone numbers; otherwise, a breakdown in communication might ensue which will adversely affect our ability to advise you of the approval of your application, if it should be the case. PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT THAT YOU WRITE LEGIBLY AND CLEARLY.

Q. Why do I need to complete the required information in the application form?
A. The loan application form was designed to capture the complete picture of your financial circumstances, personal details and status. This information will have impact in your credibility as borrower. Hence, if there are missed information, e.g. credit cards or other loans details, your application may not be assessed accurately.

Q: I am not sure of the purpose of my loan, what do I state in my application?
A: Maybe you’ve got a new car in mind, some home improvement or a special expense. Maybe you just want to get your finances back to track after over spending. These are some of the purposes to apply for a loan. We strongly advise you to be specific and firm in your purpose as this will be an important consideration in the evaluation of your loan. If necessary, please indicate the amount you need for each purpose/s to avoid any confusion on the disbursement of the approved loan proceeds.

Q: How important is it that I be specific and candid in filing details under the “Finances” portion of my application form?
A: Your finances will be an important consideration in our evaluation of your application and if it is complete and specific, it will help to speed up our loan processing process.

 

II. Documentary Requirements

Q: What do you mean by ‘Six months “recent” bank statements, Six months “recent” pay slips or Six months “recent” credit card statements’?
A: The phrase “Six months recent” means that your latest Six months (i.e., if you are applying for a loan on the 15th of July, it means that we will need a copy or the original copy of your documents covering 6 months period from January 1 to June 30 or December 15 to June 15).

Q: When is it necessary to submit credit card statements and how many months do you require?
A: If you have a credit card account, you must submit six (6) months of your most recent detailed credit card statement or all credit card statements received from the credit card provider if the account is less than 6 months old.

 

III. Assessment of your Application

Q: I have sent the application form and the supporting documents to your office, what happen next?
A: We will send you an acknowledgement letter upon receipt of your application. We will advise you by post or by phone for lacking documents. Please be reminded that we can not process loan applications with incomplete required documents.

Q: I received a postcard / letter advising me that my application is being processed, how long do I have to wait?
A: Processing time for loan applications with complete required documents normally takes up to 10 working days.

Q: I received a postcard or letter about lacking documents for my loan application, what shall I do next?
A: It is advisable that you immediately gather all the required documents stated in the letter and forward them to us either by mail or in person. Remember, we can not process loan applications with incomplete required documents

Q: I submitted my application by mail a month ago, why have I not received any letter from you regarding action on my application?
A: There are a number of reasons for a possible delay. The most common caused is when applicants do not provide us the complete documents. Thus, we strongly advise that you submit the COMPLETE required documents at the first instance to avoid delay on your application. Nonetheless, you may contact us by phone to follow up your application if you do not hear from us after 10 working days from date of posting.

 

IV. Loan Approval

Q: How will I know if my loan is approved?
A: You will be notified by post, which will also include your loan agreement, account opening form and standing order form for your monthly repayments.

Q. What shall I do with the loan agreement and the PNBE Account Application Form?
A. It is advisable that you read the loan agreement thoroughly and understand its contents i.e. your rights and responsibilities. Sign the loan agreement if you agree with our terms and conditions. You are also required to complete the PNBE Account Opening Application Form and signature card (if you are a new loan client) and Standing Order Form and then return them to us by post.

 

V. Release of the Loan

Q. What will happen after I signed and returned the loan agreement?
A. Upon receipt of your signed loan agreement, Standing Order Form, Account Application Form etc., we will process the release of your loan proceeds and implement payment or fund transfers per your instruction. Your instruction/s must correspond with the original purpose as stated in your loan application form. We may call you prior to implementing transfers or payments, in order to confirm your instruction/s.

Q. How will I know when my loan proceeds has been transferred to my beneficiaries or bank account etc?
A. We will send you payment advice by post. Please be reminded that we do not disclose information concerning the above transaction by phone.
